All of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden photos were taken by Agnes, photographer-extrodinaire, who took control of the camera.

I'm pretty sure my mom and my stepmom got me the exact same thing (a kitchenaid stand mixer), and I didn't even ask for it! Of course I wanted one, but that was strangely psychic on both their parts. Quentin thinks that I should keep both and have dueling mixers. :)

My coworkers made me cry. I'm still not totally sure what gift-giving etiquette is in the office, so I just gave chocolate to my neighbors. That seemed to be the normal thing going on, although I also received wine and whatnot from people that I had worked on projects with. Then today, I came to my desk and found a card signed by the entire floor with chocolates, a $100 gift certificate to a spa, and scratch off lotto tickets. I'm beyond touched. What a life.

Lots of things happened this week. I got a raise, and I was crazy busy at work. I'll have to go in tomorrow to be prepared for my meetings on Monday. I saw Neko Case on Thursday with Joy and Cue. She was playing with Joanna Newsom(e?), but Neko was worlds better. Good show. Now I'm packing because I'm moving next weekend. It's so much fun! I keep getting sidetracked though because I keep finding fun things that I thought I lost. That's why moving is so much fun. I had to read some of my papers from college and notes from 8th grade. Wheeeeeeeeee!

    Random question
In the past, I've always gotten a UHaul and moved myself, but with a couch, bed, etc., we're thinking of shelling out for professional movers. Has anyone had luck with any?

4/2- Point Break $10 @ Galapagos. Point Break Live!

That's it right now, but I'm going to get tickets to the Point Break show this week, because the past shows have been selling out.

    Coffee!
Does anybody want to go to a coffee tasting with me? I know, I know, not as enticing as a wine tasting, but I actually prefer coffee (gasp),and I'd like to check it out. It's at Joe the art of coffee. It's $10 and you learn how to identify flavor profiles from different countries. FLAVOR PROFILES. It's next Tuesday.

    I'm a such a dork....
Okay, I was going to wait until I had about five entries, but I figure three's enough for now. I have a blog. A food blog. It's where I write about what I cook and bake, as well as what I find interesting in the realm of food. Oh, and I'll probably have my restaurant experiences documented as well as bar ones, because, hey, alcohol is a food to me. I realize this is so not interesting to most of you, but if it is, feel free to check it out.

Wow. Bush is almost 60. He looks surprisingly good. Well, still ugly of course, but he hardly has any wrinkles. Especially for somebody with a relationship with alcohol. I wonder if he had botox. Maybe he had it injected with his eyebrows raised so he always has that stupid, confused expression on his face.

So, Quentin and I are watching the Penguins vs. Islanders game. Final Countdown starts playing in the last minutes of the 3rd period.

Quentin: Oh, I hope they're playing in Pittsburgh! This song is so appropriate!
    Me: Er, why?
Quentin: Cuz Pittsburghers listen to metal?
    Me: ?
Quentin: Well, the ones that I know!

My boss just told me that I look and sound awful. That's nice to hear! I think he's sending me home to get over the cold.

    Tonight is Sufjan!
Well, I turned out to have a full-fledged cold this weekend which was no fun. Yesterday, I met friends (Sam, Laura, Dave, Jake B., Jake T., Kyle, Sean, Meredith, Newman, Quentin) for the 40 year Old Virgin (which was thoroughly charming! I agree with Melissa about not liking meanhumor). Then we went to Cedar for food and drinks. (Katja came. It was one short of a Last Supper.) I just drank water to prevent further sickness. Then Quentin and I split off, because sleep was needed.

Today I woke up bright-eyed and busy-tailed. I did laundry and the bagels-nyt ritual. Then I took a 2 hour nap!!! I never nap! I guess I needed it though, because I don't feel nearly as coldish as I did earlier. I had a terrible nightmare though. It involved being charged entirely too much for a haircut. I think it was the most practical nightmare I've ever had.

Tonight I get to see Sufjan Steven! Eeeeeee! I'm ever so excited. I am quite a fan.
